Edip Cansever (August 8, 1928 – May 28, 1986) was a Turkish poet, considered part of the  Ikinci Yeni movement which was a loosely affiliated group of poets who embraced modernism and brought about a revolution in Turkish poetry

Nâzım Hikmet Ran,commonly known as Nâzım Hikmet, was a Turkish poet, playwright, novelist, screenwriter, director and memoirist. He was acclaimed for the "lyrical flow of his statements". Described as a "romantic communist" and "romantic revolutionary", he was repeatedly arrested for his political beliefs and spent much of his adult life in prison or in exile. His poetry has been translated from Turkish by Neil P Doherty.

Melih Cevdet Anday was a Turkish writer whose poetry stands outside the traditional literary movements. He also wrote in many other genres which, over six and a half decades, included eleven collections of poems, eight plays, eight novels, fifteen collections of essays, several of which won major literary awards

Gonca Özmen was born in Burdur, Southern Turkey. She has published three books of poetry, many essays, and critical articles to date.

Mehmet Taner was born in the province of Nevşehir in Central Anatolia in 1946. His work is marked by a deep lyricism and a willingness to play with older forms such as the rubai and the Ottoman aruz metre but he has also displayed a willingness to explore newer forms.

Ülkü Tamer (1937- 2018) was a Turkish poet, journalist, actor and translator. He is one of the leading representatives of the Second New poetry movement that emerged in the 1950s.
