Hawa Nanjobe Kimbugwe is one of the most renowned Performance Poets in Uganda, a Writer, Debater and Youth community Builder. She is a passionate Activist for Humanity, Peace & Tolerance, Social consciousness, Literacy, Servant Leadership and Women Empowerment.
Hawa is a Kitara Nation Poet, an Extremely Together Young leader – Uganda Chapter, an iDover and a Debater/Adjudicator with the Debate Society Uganda.
Above all she is fiercely feminist and decidedly religious. As Poulomi Roy from The Antonym caught up with Hawa over a virtual conversation, the poet and the feminist, the performer and the activist came out in full glow.

Poulomi Roy

Poulomi Roy is a Lecturer and Research Scholar in Economics, under University of Calcutta. She has been associated with theatre and performing arts from a very young age. She participated in several national level theatre competitions and was the winner & first runners up in proscenium & street theatre. Thereafter, she worked in two feature films, directed by eminent directors like Anik Dutta, her recent on screen work being in Borunbabur Bondhu. She also loves to write during her spare time and has a collection of her Bengali poems published under ‘Bae Umra’.
