Sun-dusted bones – Deb Bandyopadhyay

Apr 9, 2021 | Fiction

The sky asked the river
‘How do I look?’
the mirror turned fluid
hardly a moment it took.

A black snake twisted the light
like a faith, intertwined.
time flew through it
sorrows built bridges on
frosty castle by the shore.

Sun-dusted maple forest
bone-crusted and tall
stood by a gospel wind
when a snowflake
danced through its halls
‘You look like me, nothing more’
