The Antonym November Creative Non Fiction Contest

The Antonym invites nonfiction writers to enter the November Creative Nonfiction Contest, for which USD 50 will be awarded to the winning submission.

The submission, which should be limited to 750 words, can be a personal essay, memoir, narrative nonfiction, or social commentary, all enhanced by fictional elements in description or characterization. Here is the writing prompt given by poet and science fiction writer Andrew Joron:

Use an ordinary word in an extraordinary way.

The contest is open to all international writers anywhere in the world, with a deadline of 20th November, 2021. The winner will be announced on 11th December, 2021, and the winning piece will be published in the magazine’s November issue. All entries are judged anonymously.
